Warriors and Rebels fixture confirmed

Worcester Warriors can today confirm that the pre-season Melbourne Rebels fixture will be going ahead on the Monday August 15 kick-off 7.45pm.

The historic fixture against Super 15 giants the Melbourne Rebels at Sixways Stadium is an explosive start to pre-season preparation and the first time in history that two sides have met.

The fixture could see world class players such as fly half superstar Danny Cipriani, Australian legends Stirling Mortlock and Mark Gerrard, plus Wales international Gareth Delve and former England ace Michael Lipman all in action at Sixways.

The highly anticipated fixture would be an eye-catching start to the pre-season campaign as supporters get a first glimpse of Richard Hill's men – and our summer signings – ahead of the return to the Aviva Premiership.

Ticket prices for this special encounter are priced at £15 for adults and £5 for juniors. Adult season ticket holders will be charged a discounted rate of £10.

Charlie Little, General Manager at Warriors, said: “To get a team such as Melbourne Rebels over to play Warriors therefore brings significant costs and we have to try and cover these through tickets and secondary spend. The purpose is to give Warriors a good pre season fixture whilst giving the supporters something different. We are all looking forward to another historic, memorable evening of rugby at Sixways.”

Existing season ticket holders who are still yet to re-new or new season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets also at the £10 rate if season ticket applications are processed before the 1st July.

Charlie Little explained “The game will be an all pay fixture due to the costs involved in bringing a touring team over to England. However, Season Ticket holders that renew by the end of July, allowing us time to process their details ahead of the game will get a beneficial price.”

Melbourne Rebel tickets will go on sale early July, further details to follow. For information on season tickets please call the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183.
