Back in the swing – Warriors Golf Day

Worcester Warriors took time out of the gruelling pre-season schedule to get into the swing of things on Wednesday afternoon as the club’s successful annual golf day took place in the idyllic setting of Bransford Golf Club.

The Sixways squad all took time out to swap the training field for the Florida-style 18-hole course as they mixed it with corporate guests for a fun afternoon away from preparations for the new Aviva Premiership season.

A Stableford best two out of four points scoring ran on the day and official club sponsors Worcester, Bosch Group took top honours as they won the top prize thanks to Steve Clifford, Andy Young, Neil Clarke and Shane Butterworth.

Si Merrett took the nearest the pin prize, Joe Alekna won the longest drive and Alan Berry took the Most Golf prize. Guy Marson, from the club’s official creative partner Modus Creative, was the closest to guessing the number of balls lost… as 256 went astray!

All the players showed their natural competitive edge but it was the four-ball team of Errie Claassens, Matt Kvesic, Alex Crockett and Andy Goode that secured dressing bragging rights for the next few weeks.

The team of Matt Mullan, Danny Gray, Shaun Perry and Adam Balding came second while Chairman Cecil Duckworth, Chris Pennell, Kai Horstmann and Andy Short took third place.

After the golf all the players returned to Sixways for an evening three-course dinner.
