Chairman’s Lunch with Roger Black

Chairman Cecil Duckworth OBE and his guests would like to invite you once again to his annual Chairman’s lunch at the home of the Warriors, Sixways Stadium, on Friday, October 21. Over 270 people have already booked in for what is sure to be a great event.

We will have our very own Worcester Warriors first team stars and coaching staff in attendance where you will have the opportunity to mingle as well as dine with the Warriors.

This year we will be joined by Roger Black, MBE. For fourteen years Roger Black represented Great Britain at the highest level in the world of athletics, both as an individual 400 metre runner and as a member of the 4×400 metre relay team.

He won fifteen major Championship medals including European, Commonwealth, and World Championship Gold medals. His greatest achievement was winning the Olympic 400 metre Silver medal in 1996 and he is particularly admired for his triumphs over adversity, successfully overcoming several serious injuries and setbacks throughout his career.

He was British Men's Team Captain and was awarded the M.B.E. in 1992. Roger Black is now a television presenter and an accomplished motivational speaker and conference host.

Roger is one of those unique people who have achieved both individually and as part of a team. He understands the dynamics of becoming a champion – how to dream a dream, set goals and take the necessary steps to fulfilling ones potential.

By combining his close understanding of motivation and self-development with his personal experiences both on and off the track he consistently inspires, motivates and entertains audiences throughout the country.

We will be joining forces with the Wooden Spoon Charity in raising funds to help underprivileged children and young people all over the UK and Ireland to live happier, richer lives. In the UK, one child in every hundred suffers from a lifelong disability that will profoundly affect his or her ability to lead a full and happy life. More than 3.5 million young people grow up in low income households or live in an environment where they are subjected to poverty of aspiration.

Wooden Spoon, believes all that all children and young people deserve the chance to live happy fulfilled lives regardless of the challenges they may face. Spoon harnesses the spirit and values of rugby to give disadvantaged children and young people in the UK and Ireland a chance to achieve their full potential in life.
