Worcester Warriors could face a date with destiny with Stade Francais on Saturday, January 21 (kick-off 8.45pm local time) after the ERC confirmed fixtures for Rounds 5 and 6 of the Amlin Challenge Cup.
Warriors currently trail giants Stade by four points in Pool 1 and the group stages – where only the top team qualifies for the knock out stages – now looks set to be decided when Worcester head to the French capital in late January and the Stade Charlety.
Before that Warriors know they must take maximum points when they welcome Banca Monte Crociati to Sixways. The visit of the Italians in Round 5 has been confirmed as Saturday, January 14 (kick-off 3pm).
Head Coach Richard Hill said: “We’ve had fantastic support throughout the European campaign with Worcester fans travelling in big numbers to both Italy and Romania to support the Warriors. It would be great to see lots out in the French capital for this big game.
“However, we are not getting ahead of ourselves. Our two recent results over Bucharest Wolves have kept us alive in the competition and we have got Crociati at home to come first. We need to do a professional job on them and get the maximum points before we can think about facing up to Stade Francais again.
“Provided we get the five points against Crociati, we go to Paris and it is all on that, the winner of the pool will come from that one game. We will take the strongest possible side out to Paris and do everything to get the win and make the knockout stages.”
Tickets for the home clash with Banca Monte Crociati are available NOW from the Warriors Box Office on 01905 454183 or online at warriors.co.uk. For further details on ticketing for the game in France visit www.stade.fr and the online home of the Warriors.
