Boss demands reaction in New Year

Boss Richard Hill has demanded his Worcester Warriors react in the right manner to defeat to Tigers as they immediately turn their attention to London Wasps on New Year’s Day.

Worcester are just three points behind Wasps – who suffered a heavy defeat to Gloucester over Christmas – and travel to Adams Park to kick-off 2012.

Hill has already hinted and possible team changes for the game and warned those sent out into battle in High Wycombe that a repeat of the start against Leicester was not acceptable.

He said: “I’m not happy with that performance. We need a reaction as we underperformed and that is not good enough.

“We have rested the squad for the trip to Bucharest and they have put 57 points on them 10 days ago, it wasn’t really the stern test we needed before we went into a game like that. Leicester had Clermont so they were ready.

“That game will get us back in the groove and we have a short turnaround now. We have got to have a reaction.

“Wasps will want one after what happened at Gloucester, they are talking the same, so it is two teams going in trying to prove a point.”
