Hill looks for Horst-power against Falcons

Head Coach Richard Hill has revealed fit-again back row Kai Horstmann will feature against Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership at Sixways Stadium on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Horstmann has spent the last few months battling back to full fitness after a hamstring issue, but has proved hit fitness in reserve games and off the bench against Bath Rugby in the last league outing.

Hill is also set to recall James Percival as he expects a stern physical challenge against the Falcons.

“We have plenty of options and particularly in the back row,” admitted Hill. “We are going to give Kai Horstmann a start because we feel it is just the right sort of game for him to play.

“He has been out for several months with injury, but before that he was playing well and captaining the side. He is champing at the bit and really wants to play.

“Blair Cowan has been superb for us and you couldn’t have asked for anymore from him, we are certainly not playing him because of a lack of form, but this game is made for Kai.

“He is a proud person and this is a big game for him and our club so I am sure he will perform.

“James Percival should also return and he can be a big player for us with his physicality.

“You can sense now after two weeks that the adrenaline is flowing, the smiles are going and players are ready for the battle.”
