Rasmussen determined to finish on a high

Centre star Dale Rasmussen has targeted a winning finale on his last appearance for the club against London Irish at Sixways on Saturday insisting: “You are only as good as your last game.”

Rasmussen is set to play his 199th game for Warriors in the final home game of the campaign after it was confirmed the Samoa international would leave at the end of the season after eight years of service.

The 34-year-old admits it will be a strange feeling running out for the last time, but is refusing to let emotion enter his head as he looks for another big performance.

“I always say you are only as good as your last game – so I want my last one at Sixways to be a really big one,” said Rasmussen, who along with Kai Horstmann, Chris Fortry, Miles Benjamin and Marcel Garvey feature in a special edition of ‘The Warrior’ match day programme this Saturday.

“I want to give a good account of myself and leave the fans with a good memory of me.

“I’ve loved being a Warrior and always wanted to be a big part of the club. Our fans have been magnificent and I hope they have enjoyed the rollercoaster as much as I have.

“On Saturday it’s all about getting the win and a big performance – going out on a real high.

“I really want to thank and express my gratitude to everyone who has helped me over the last eight seasons. I have made long-term friends and will always have the Warriors and this city in my heart.”
