Benjamin prepares to wave goodbye to Sixways

Departing winger Miles Benjamin admits Sixways will always hold happy memories for him as he prepares for his final game on home soil for the Warriors this Saturday against London Irish (kick-off 3pm).

Benjamin has a staggering record of 59 tries in 122 games for Warriors, but he will play in a Worcester jersey at Sixways for the final time on Saturday before leaving for a new chapter in his career.

The Solihull-born speedster has enjoyed his rise to stardom at the Warriors and insists he will also continue to watch the club closely even when he is gone.

“Sixways has always been a place I have enjoyed playing at,” said Benjamin. “It’s been a long time now and I will be sad to go, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it and I am leaving behind some good mates and memories.

“I still remember my first season and running out the tunnel and that noise. It gets you pretty excited because suddenly you are playing in front of far more people than before coming through the age groups.

“I look back with pride at what I have achieved. A lot of us worked extremely hard, the likes of Alex Grove, Chris Pennell and I came through together.

“I will keep in touch with people and I still talk to people like Coxy (Matt Cox) and those who have left before and gone through similar experiences. We are tight and we will remain friends always.”
