Boss Richard Hill refused to accept that the emotion of the day had impacted on his players as they suffered defeat to London Irish at Sixways Stadium.
Kai Horstmann, Dale Rasmussen, Miles Benjamin and Marcel Garvey all played their final games at Sixways in Worcester shirts.
However, a disappointing display saw Warriors fall 18-6 behind at the break before eventually losing out 25-16 in the penultimate game of the Aviva Premiership season.
“I won’t accept that the emotion got to them, that is not really an excuse,” he said.
“I would expect them to be really up for it. The ones who are leaving should have been up for it and the ones who are not to really put on a show to send those players off in the right way.
“London Irish were really up for it and seemed to be very enthusiastic and excited about playing. They played some good stuff.
“I had words at half time and moved out before I said too much,” revealed Hill.
“The first half was an embarrassment and I said the players could not hold their heads up in the clubhouse afterwards in the second 40 minutes was as bad as the first.
“I had to get it off my chest – I didn’t have to say it as they knew it. It was a bad one, but the second half we looked a different team and if we played like that in the first half who knows.
“Jonny Arr is a very good player, but Shaun (Perry) grabbed that pack of forwards by the scruff of the neck. He has been captain the last few weeks and his leadership, to whip people up, was critical in the second half.
“It wasn’t (Andy) Goodey’s day and so Danny Gray came on. He generated excitement and we looked a pretty good attacking side at times in the second half.”
