De Carpentier links up with Warriors on trial

Worcester Warriors have confirmed that young back row Richard de Carpentier is to join the club on trial this month.

Former England Sevens international de Carpentier, who stands 6ft 4in tall and weighs 16st 7lbs, previously played at Leicester Tigers and had a spell on loan at Nottingham in the RFU Championship last season.

A former England Students captain, the 22-year-old forward is a product of the Fylde club in Lancashire.

De Carpentier said: “It’s a big opportunity for me to join the Warriors. I’m focussed on making a good impression during my trial this month and doing all I can to secure a future at Sixways.

“I really enjoyed my time at Leicester Tigers. It was a great experience as my first professional contract to get to train with those players and work with the coaching staff at Welford Road.

“Now I have a big chance to make a mark at Warriors and I’m determined to take it. I’m fit to play and keen to get started at Worcester later this week.”
