Boss backs prop Murray to make big impact

Head Coach Richard Hill saluted the signing of Scotland and British & Irish Lions ace Euan Murray as a big boost to the Aviva Premiership club.

Murray will join up with the Warriors squad next month from Newcastle Falcons after completing a spell at French club Agen and his international games with Scotland.

Hill revealed his long-term admiration for Murray and tipped his new tighthead prop acquisition to make an impression at Sixways.

“John Andress, James Currie and Rob O’Donnell are all making big strides for us and we are naturally delighted to be able to sign a player of the quality of Euan Murray,” said Hill.

“Euan has played a big role in the Scotland set-up. He really locks the scrum down for them and is also exceptional around the field.

“I watched him play against Australia earlier this summer and he made 20 tackles in the game, which is quite outstanding for a tighthead prop outside of the set piece.

“He will really enhance the quality within our squad and give us even more options in the front row.”
