Warriors Head Coach Richard Hill is hoping his side can put together a good run in the Amlin Challenge Cup after an impressive start to the European campaign.
Hill watched his men thrash European debutants Bizkaia Gernika last weekend and is confident Warriors will back that up with another big victory on Saturday.
He said: “We’ve set ourselves a target to get out of the group. That is our aim at the moment and we’ll see what happens after that.
“We are treating this competition very seriously. We need a big win this weekend and that will set us up for the two crucial matches against Perpignan.”
Hill has warned his team to be wary of the threat Rovigo will possess and thinks that Warriors will have to be focused on Saturday.
“The danger when you come up against a weaker side is that you take them lightly and put in a bitty performance,” he continued.
“But that won’t be the case with us. The players have a very professional attitude and we have prepared well.”
Rovigo lost 79-12 at home to Perpignan last Saturday and have only won three of their 49 European encounters to date.
But while Pool 2 looks to be a two-way race between Warriors and Perpignan, Hill admits Saturday’s Italian opponents won’t roll over.
He added: “Rovigo were actually leading 12-10 against Perpignan after 25 minutes before they fell away so it was a very tight opening to that match.
“They’re obviously very competitive for 20 or 30 minutes and they will take some breaking down. If we can do that, then hopefully we can do the same to them as Perpignan did.
“They will be organised and robust but we will be expecting to secure a five-point win.”
