New date for England international at Sixways

Worcester Warriors have today announced that the England Under-20 fixture against France at Sixways in the 2013 Six Nations will now take place a day later on Saturday, February 23 (kick-off 3pm).

The game has been officially moved back 24 hours to allow as many local rugby fans to enjoy the international and avoid a clash with the Worcester Warriors game against Gloucester Rugby.

The local derby between Worcester and Gloucester at Kingsholm has now been moved to the Friday night to be screened by ESPN.

Charlie Little, Managing Director at Worcester Warriors, said: “It is unfortunate that we have had to move the date but we are pleased to have been able to make the changes quickly and without too much disruption and inconvenience to all concerned. I would like to thank the RFU and French Union for accepting the change.

“The new date allows our supporters to watch the local derby at Kingsholm and also support England Under-20s at Sixways, in particular Worcester players Ben Howard and Josh Watkins who will both hope to be involved.

“It will be an action packed day of international rugby as we will show the senior international between England and France immediately in the bars after the game too.

“I hope as many fans as possible will come along and support the international fixture and now it is taking place in the afternoon rather than the evening we also hope this will encourage as many young supporters as possible to experience international rugby at Sixways.”
