Hill looking for that Friday night feeling

Head Coach Richard Hill has urged the Sixways faithful to create one more special atmosphere under the lights this season when Warriors face London Wasps in the Aviva Premiership on Friday evening (kick-off 8pm).

Worcester have already recorded impressive victories over London Irish, Saracens, Sale Sharks and London Welsh on Friday nights at Sixways.

London Wasps arrive at the end of this week and after the cruel late defeat at Gloucester the Worcester boss is determined his team will fire.

And he admits another electric atmosphere would only inspire his Warriors as they look to record a crucial league win.

“On Friday nights we tend to perform better and the crowd is very animated under the lights,” admitted Hill.

“We are looking forward to this Friday and I gather there is going to be a big crowd in. I always find the crowd massively vocal under the lights so hopefully we can get that again.

“The atmosphere is brilliant and we have had some exciting games here on Friday nights in particular.

“I expect the crowd will come excited and ready to go and we need to give them a win – they deserve a win.

“We have been so close but not quite made it so for all the staff, players, everybody we want to have a really good feeling. I want to send people home from Sixways feeling good and hopefully the supporters can stay afterwards, have a drink, feel good and go back home happy.

“This is an absolutely crucial game for us and we are not looking any further ahead than this Friday. We have got to throw everything we have at Wasps to get a win.”
