Captain James Percival admits his side must address their form on the road if they are going to progress into a top-half team.
Warriors were dispatched 26-6 by London Irish at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon as the home side raced to a three-try victory.
And, according to Percival, results on the road must change ahead of the next campaign.
He said: “Away games are something we need to look at as a group. We need to come together as one big team and address things so when we go into next season we’re not just a home-winning team.”
“It’s a case of sitting down, talking and discussing things. We’ve changed a lot of things this season in terms of how we play.
“We’re trying to play a different game and sometimes it’s hard to play that game when you’re away from home but we need to have a look at that.”
Irish went into the break with a ten-point advantage after first-half tries from Matt Garvey and Halani Aulika and two Tom Homer penalties in response to two Andy Goode kicks.
Chris Hala'ufia went over for the third and Homer added another penalty in the second period to cap off a fine afternoon for the Exiles.
And Percival conceded it was a hard result to take. He continued: “It was a very difficult match to be involved in today.
“We wanted to come away to London Irish and set the tone after what we achieved against Wasps. To come away with that result is very disappointing.
“I know the supporters have travelled down expecting big things after the Wasps game and to have a result like that is disappointing for them as well.”
With wet weather conditions set to continue into next week, Percival says it’s a case of getting back on the training pitch and choosing the right tactics to beat Exeter.
He added: “We’ve played in worse conditions than we did today so you can’t blame the defeat on that.
“Something we need to have a look at is the driving mauls. Two or three times teams have used that against us and that is something we need to strengthen for Exeter because they will bring that to their game.
“Nothing less than what we achieved against Wasps will be good enough against Exeter. We need to step-up and we have got to beat Exeter.”
