Hill pays tribute to Exeter Chiefs set-up

Richard Hill has paid tribute to the Exeter Chiefs coaching set-up ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Devon side.

Exeter were promoted to the top-flight for the first time in their history in 2010 and Hill believes their continued success is down to Rob Baxter and his backroom staff.

He said: “Exeter have done exceptionally well. They’ve got a coaching team that’s been together a long time and they’ve got a group of players who have been together for a long time.

“So I think the good habits and the culture has been instilled into that group for a few years and that has stood them in good stead, especially after coming up to the Premiership. It’s kept them very tight and they know each other so they work well together.”

Exeter Chiefs travel to Sixways looking to record back-to-back away victories for the first time since last April.
And Hill says that the team one place above Warriors in the Aviva Premiership table will pose a big threat on Saturday.

He continued: “There was a statistic from their game with Leicester Tigers last weekend which showed they had only made one handling error after 55 minutes.

“That is some record and it shows just how efficient and well-drilled they are as a team.”

Hill was handed some good news earlier this week when giant number eight Semisi Taulava was given the all-clear to make his first start since January and, according to Hill, the back row enforcer will be a key man for his side during their end-of-season run-in.

He added: “Semisi will start. When he was playing earlier this season he made a massive impact with his ball carrying and he was a big player for us in that respect.

“We’ve missed him – there’s no doubt about that. He got 20 minutes last weekend and I’m now convinced he’s fully fit and ready to go.”
