Murray ready for Exeter Chiefs battle

Euan Murray is relishing the chance to reduce Exeter’s ten-point lead over Warriors when the Devon side travel to Sixways tomorrow.

Exeter sit just one place above Warriors in the Aviva Premiership table is targeting four points tomorrow.

He said: “We’re really looking forward to the game tomorrow. We were disappointed from the game last week and we’ve looked at the things that went wrong so we’re hoping to come out and get a good win in front of our fans.

“Exeter are a good side. They’re well-drilled and they do the basics well so we’ve got our work cut out.”

With Sixways hosting its first clash for over four weeks, Murray has urged fans to turn out in force and roar his side on to victory.

He continued: “The fans are amazing. They were great again during our last home game against Wasps and hopefully we’ll have a big crowd again tomorrow.

“There aren’t many games of the season left now so it will be great to hear them cheering and making noise; it’s good to play in front of them.”

Murray is set to make his first start in the blue and gold since helping Scotland to a third-place finish in the RBS Six Nations.

And the 32-year-old, who won his 50th cap for his country during the competition, is focused on building momentum ahead of the next campaign.

He added: “We want to keep improving on the things that are going well. It would be good to get some momentum.

“I was proud to make my 50th appearance for Scotland. It took a lot to get there and I had a lot of support from people around me.

“Now I’m back at Worcester, I’ll be doing all I can to help the team finish off well. I’m enjoying working with the coaches and the players. They’re a great bunch of lads.”
