Rotary & Stroke Association at Sixways

We are all set for another action-packed match day at the home of the Warriors this Saturday afternoon against Exeter Chiefs – and supporters can also fundraise by buying a crocus for Worcester Vigornia Rotary Club and get medical advice from the Stroke Association.

A variety of Warriors supporters are actively involved with Rotary – a voluntary organisation with over 1.2 million business and professional leaders involved worldwide. Rotary is involved with a variety of local projects and worldwide events and over the last few years our fans have helped support the Shelter Box Scheme, End Polio Now, the Xmas Parcel Appeal and a variety of community projects.

Rotary hopes fans will once again support the End Polio Now campaign and purchase a crocus at Saturday’s game. Polio is a crippling and life threatening disease. It has been eradicated from most countries of the world a d most of the Western world’s population have forgotten it still exists – but it does! Meanwhile, the Stroke Association will be running blood pressure checks in Scrum Club.

Stroke is the UK’s fourth biggest killer and number one cause of adult disability in the UK. Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age and the majority of stroke survivors are left dependent on others for everyday activities

High blood pressure is the most significant risk factor for stroke and over 40% of strokes could be prevented if high blood pressure was diagnosed and treated. Please visit the Scrum Club this Saturday if you want any more information.
