Warriors confirm Friday and Saturday matchday split

Worcester Warriors can confirm that Aviva Premiership matches at Sixways will continue to be played on both Friday nights and Saturday afternoons next season.

Earlier this month the club announced that they were discussing the possibly of increasing the number of Friday night games under the floodlights next year.

With the atmosphere at Sixways on Friday nights being second to none and Saturday rugby providing supporters with action-packed winter weekends, the debate was something that clearly polarised supporters’ opinions.

Following on discussions with supporters the Warriors launched an online survey to contribute to the decision-making process.

We were delighted with the level of response to the survey as around 700 Season Ticket holders provided us with invaluable feedback.

And – remarkably – the results illustrated that our fans were split down the middle as 350 people said they preferred Friday matches compared to 348 people who opted for Saturday matches!

Having considered the feedback, the club has decided to continue with a policy of having a mix of Friday and Saturday matches and will play no more than six Friday night games at Sixways.

Fixtures are set to be announced in July following the release of Premiership and Championship football fixtures.

All fixtures are subject to broadcast scheduling and where possible the club will endeavour to keep the fixture list as published prior to the season start.
