Warrior wins big day out at Twickenham

Warrior Stuart Brooks will represent the club at Twickenham next weekend as he battles for the honour of carrying the coveted Aviva Premiership Rugby trophy onto the pitch ahead of the final between Leicester Tigers and Northampton Saints.

From February to April this year, fans of the 12 Aviva Premiership clubs went head-to-head in a Rugby Trophy Lift Off in search of the ultimate fan power.

The fan who recorded the longest trophy hold for each club received two top-category tickets to the final and the chance to compete for the once in a lifetime opportunity of walking the trophy out at this season’s showpiece event.

Warriors’ representative Brooks was training so vigorously for the event that he suffered a back injury but believes he will be fine to compete at the final.

He said: “I was a bit shocked to get the winning time because I was up against some strong boys but I was delighted to win and I’m now looking forward to representing Worcester Warriors at Twickenham.

“I have been resting and recovering so I may struggle to keep up but I will give it a go.”

This was the first time that the challenge has been held and aimed to showcase the breadth and depth of clubs within Premiership Rugby whilst also offering a unique opportunity for fans to represent their club at the world’s biggest club rugby final.

Thousands of fans from across the clubs signed-up to take part and the winners from each club will now face each other at the Twickenham Lift Off on Saturday 25 May.
