Academy Manager Mark Hewitt has spoken about his excitement over the future talent at Sixways as the new-look Academy squad for the 2013/14 season was confirmed.
The 12-man Academy squad includes England Under-20 wing Ben Howard, currently in action in the IRB Junior World Championships in France, who made nine appearances for the senior set-up last season.
Other young Warriors who will continue their eye-catching development at Sixways are versatile back Max Stelling, who scored a hat-trick in Europe last season and five tries in three senior appearances, England Under-20 wing Josh Watkins and England Under-18 back row Josh Buggea.
England Under-18 flanker Andrew Boyce and prop Jack Cosgrove, who have previously represented the Worcester Cavaliers, are also confirmed in the new-look squad.
New arrivals include powerful young hooker Nick Seymour who joins the club from New Zealand where he has featured for Northern Suburbs RFC.
Former England Students lock Harry Casson, who featured for Gloucester against Fiji last November, is now part of the Warriors Academy set-up and is joined by England Under-18 scrum half Tom Chapman, who represented Bath in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series last season,and exciting fly half talent and former Gloucester U18 Academy member Tiff Eden.
Fly half Elliott Davies and centre James Young, both products of Bromsgrove School and part of the Warriors Under-18 squad last season, also join the Academy ranks.
Academy Manager, Mark Hewitt, said: “We are excited about the players we have coming into the Warriors full-time system this year and those that will continue to look to make an impression and build on last year’s success.
“Players like Ben Howard and Max Stelling took the opportunity last year to make their mark on the first team and we are looking for them to push on and the new players to make a similar impact.”
