Warriors will rattle Harlequins says boss Ryan

Director of Rugby Dean Ryan insists that Warriors are closing in on a first win of the season.

After tough clashes against Leicester Tigers and London Irish, Warriors will look to bounce back against Harlequins as Sixways prepares for its first Friday night clash this season.

Ryan said: “There were a lot of positives to take from last week and we will see if we can rattle Quins on Friday night.

“I enjoy working with this group, they’re a great bunch and I don’t think we’re far away from picking up our first win – then hopefully we can get on a bit of a roll.”

Harlequins lost to Northampton last Friday, following a narrow victory the previous week in the Twickenham double-header against London Wasps.

The 2012 Aviva Premiership champions will bring a strong squad to Sixways, which is likely to include England internationals Joe Marler, Danny Care and captain Chris Robshaw.

And, according to Ryan, his side will have to be at their best if they are to claim victory.

He continued: “Harlequins will be looking to make a point after the Northampton game, which could have gone either way in the rough conditions.

“They’ve got some classy individual runners which we’ve got to try and control.”

Warriors returned to the training field on Monday morning as Ryan and his coaching team started preparation for Friday’s match.

And the Worcester boss admits his side are hungry for success. He added: “We’re making sure this group are working really hard towards getting our first win and they are playing some good stuff.

“If we keep improving we will prove a handful for other teams. These boys are desperate to succeed.”

Tickets for Friday's game start from just £19.50 for adults and £11 for juniors and are now available to buy. To buy tickets call the Warriors Box Office on 01905 459309 or click here.
