Percival – We have to target every game

James Percival insists his Warriors side need to target every game for the rest of this season if they are to remain in the Aviva Premiership next year.

Warriors travel to relegation rivals Newcastle Falcons this Sunday for a crunch battle at Kingston Park (kick-off 2pm) and the second-row knows the magnitude of the fixture.

He said: “We’ve got to win every game. That has to be our target now. Every game is as important as the next.

“Mathematically if we’re still in it then every game is important to us and we have a point to prove against Newcastle.”

Warriors were edged 16-11 by the Falcons at Sixways earlier this season but the giant lock believes his side have come a long way since.

He continued: “Earlier in the season I was injured and I remember watching us play Falcons but we are a different team to that now.

“We are developing and moving forward but this weekend we still have to go there, put in a good performance, get the win and prove to our fans that we’re moving forward every week.

“At Quins we did well and we were unlucky to lose to Wasps, but we have to start converting those good performances into wins.”

A number of Warriors supporters are expected to make the long journey north on Sunday and Percival paid tribute to the Sixways faithful.

He concluded: “The supporters make such a difference to this club. They got behind us tremendously against Wasps and for them to still give us support and keep cheering us on after a game such as that, it has a huge effect and keeps up upbeat.

“We are set for a massive test this weekend but we believe we can come back from Newcastle with a win.”
