It’s almost time for the 2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship season to finally get underway.
But first, Warriors have one final pre-season clash with last season’s LV= Cup winners, Exeter Chiefs, in the Craig Gillies Testimonial Match this Friday (kick-off 7.30pm).
The former lock spent 11 seasons stealing lineouts at Warriors and you can be there this Friday night to pay tribute to a club legend.
Warriors’ record appearance-maker, playing 288 matches along his 11-year journey, Gillies has been recognised for his incredible loyalty and commitment during his Sixways career.
And with Warriors set for another testing encounter before the league campaign gets underway, Gillies admits he is honoured to be handed a testimonial and expects a strong performance from Dean Ryan’s men.
He said: “Obviously this club has played a massive part in my life so to be recognised with a testimonial is a huge honour for me.
“I’m really looking forward to this Friday. It’s going to be great night and I think it’s going to be a great game on the back of a win against Ospreys and a good performance up in Sale.”
