Williams nominated for Championship Player of the Month

Mike Williams has been named on the shortlist for the inaugural Greene King IPA Championship Player of the Month award.

The powerful forward has impressed again for Warriors in the opening few weeks of the new season and scored his first try for the club against Bristol Rugby on the opening weekend of the campaign.

It follows a remarkable first season in English rugby, where he racked-up 25 appearances in Warriors colours and was one of the stand-out performers at Sixways.

Selected by a panel of regional and national journalists covering all 12 Championship clubs, the nominations reflect the geographical spread of the competition – with players from Jersey, Bristol Rugby, London Scottish and Doncaster Knights also nominated.

The winning player will be given the honour of being named the Player of the Month as well as receiving a Greene King IPA magnum.

And Warriors supporters can now vote for Williams by visiting www.EnglandRugby.com.

Everybody who votes during the competition will be automatically entered into a free prize draw to win a day at Twickenham for them and up to nine friends. The prize includes exclusive access to the hallowed turf for a day of touch rugby in May, followed by a pitch-side BBQ.
