Hogg praises brave side after Munster victory

Head Coach Carl Hogg admits he was delighted to see his side claim victory against Munster A in the B&I Cup after a brave decision in the final play of the game.

Warriors kicked a penalty into touch in the 80th minute for a chance to win the game instead of kicking for the posts to finish all square.

And Hogg was pleased to see his side get their reward.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted for the players. I thought they showed a huge amount of bravery throughout the game.

“And obviously it was epitomised by that last call to kick to the corner and drive them over.

“We also showed bravery in the way we tried to play the game in the first-half with ball in hand.

“I thought we saw a really good balance to the game and the bravery to nail it at the end was brilliant. It was the players’ call.”

The victory made it two wins from two for Warriors in the B&I Cup and six consecutive wins in all competitions.

But Hogg insists his side will only be focusing on the next game.

He added: “I don’t think we’ll look much further than the Moseley game because they’re a side who gave us a very tough game down here in the Championship last month.

“Whether they go for a young side or a more experienced side, it will be a huge challenge up there.

“Winning is a habit as is losing. There were times last season when we seemed to lose games we were in control of in the last five or ten minutes but we can see our winning habit this season.

“We have found ways to win and that’s credit to the players who have been playing this season.”
