Senatore features in Argentina win over Italy

Warriors’ Leonardo Senatore helped Argentina to a 20-18 win over Italy on Friday night at the Stadium Luigi Ferraris, Rome.

The Pumas fought back to beat Italy with their two tries eclipsing the clinical boot of Kelly Haimona.

The match was brought forward a day because bad weather was forecast for Saturday in storm-hit Genoa.

Lucas González Amorosino and Jerónimo de la Fuente touched down either side of the break for the Pumas but Italy’s New Zealand-born fly-half Haimona, in only his second appearance, kicked 15 of Italy’s points including a penalty from 50 metres.

Haimona had Italy 12-3 ahead but a much-changed Argentina side from their surprise defeat by Scotland bounced back and fly-half Juan Martín Hernández justified his return with a solid kicking display as Senatore's side secured the comeback.

Argentina visit France next Saturday at Stade de France, Paris.
