Hogg – Munster A will be out for revenge

Carl Hogg says Munster A will be out for revenge when Warriors travel to Cork for their penultimate pool match of the B&I Cup on Friday.

Warriors claimed a last-gasp victory over their Irish counterparts in the reverse fixture in October after Sam Betty forced his way over from a driving maul in the 80th minute.

Victory for the Sixways side on Friday would cement their place in the quarter-final of the competition but, according to Hogg, Munster will have an extra incentive to win.

He said: “It was a good contest over 80 minutes when we played them at Sixways and they might be looking for some sort of revenge but that just adds to the spice of the competition.

“It’ll be a great occasion to play Munster away from home and the boys are really excited about it.”

Warriors have won their last 11 games in all competitions – a run which stretches back to the opening weekend of the season.

And Hogg has paid tribute to the dedication of his young side.

He continued: “We’ve got a really good work ethic in the group and there is a desire to get better and to learn.

“We’re trying to promote healthy competition and that’s much easier when you’re winning because there is a feel-good factor around the club.”

The last three games have seen Warriors cruise to half-time leads before being pegged back in the second period.

And Hogg added: “We’ve put ourselves in a position to win games and win them reasonably comfortably but we seem to have taken our foot off the gas in the second-half and that’s something we’ve looked to address.”
