Warriors are delighted to announce that Sam Vesty has become the club’s new Backs Coach.
The 33-year-old takes up his new role after 18 months as the club’s Academy Transition Coach.
Vesty, who is viewed as one of the most talented young coaches in England, has been instrumental in the development of Warriors’ next generation of first-team stars and oversaw the Worcester Cavaliers side which progressed to the final of the Aviva A League.
Since arriving at Sixways in the summer of 2013 he has played a significant role in bringing players such as Ben Howard and Max Stelling to the forefront of the first-team.
Vesty said: “I am delighted to be taking up this new role at a club which undoubtedly has a very bright future and I am extremely grateful to Dean Ryan for affording me this opportunity.
“There is an array of gifted players at the club and the performances of the Cavaliers side earlier this season show there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the direction in which we are heading.
“I have enjoyed my time at Sixways immensely and I am looking forward to playing a key part in the development of our exciting backline.
During an established playing career, Vesty made 151 Premiership appearances throughout spells with Leicester Tigers – where he won three Premiership titles – and Bath Rugby.
He was a regular for both clubs in the Heineken Cup, helping Leicester to the final of the competition in 2009 before winning two England caps later that summer.
