Super Cooper – Warriors support makes all the difference

Cooper Vuna insists the Warriors supporters are making all the different as the Greene King IPA Championship play-offs approach.

Vuna scored his first hat-trick for the Club as Warriors racked-up a 69-8 victory over Cornish Pirates at Mennaye Field.

The Sixways side again took a huge following to their final away trip of the regular season. And Vuna was quick to pay tribute to the dedicated Warriors fans.

He said: “It all comes down to the crowd. For us to perform, the crowd have to be behind us and they’ve done that again. They were magnificent screaming and shouting.

“It’s great to have them behind our backs chanting and supporting us. It motivates me to play harder and they’ve made me feel a real part of the Club since I got here.

Vuna has been a stand-out performer since arriving at Sixways last month, scoring four tries in four games and helping Warriors to B&I Cup final victory in his second game.

And the Australia international admits Saturday’s victory over Cornish Pirates gives his side even more momentum ahead of the play-offs.

He added: “Pirates surprised us in the first ten minutes. The wind was strong and they played to it but we got our heads back into the game.

“Credit is due across the whole pitch. All the boys knew their roles and we weren’t looking too far ahead, we were just focused on the task at hand and we carried it out well.

“I was just happy to get over the tryline. The credit goes to all the boys on the inside who created those opportunities.

“We stuck to what we knew and we accomplished what we came to do so we’ll move onto the game against Bristol now. They’re only just in front of us and we want to finish top of the pile.”
