Remember the last play-off semi-final at Sixways?!

Calling all Warriors fans!

With this Friday night’s crucial semi-final second leg at Sixways against London Scottish, we thought we’d reflect on the previous Championship semi-final at Sixways dating back to Sunday 1 May, 2011…

Do you remember that crazy day against Bedford Blues?! Let us refresh your memory…

On that nerve-racking afternoon, Warriors found themselves 16-0 down very early on and looked to be waving goodbye to promotion to the Premiership.

However, they regrouped and chipped away at Bedford, but were still 19-13 down at half-time.

Warriors were repeatedly repelled until an incredible final ten minutes of the match put a spellbound Sixways crowd through many emotions in a game that none of its attendees could ever forget.

Graham Kitchener saw a try ruled out as he dropped the ball when looking to ground it – before Kai Horstmann bulldozed over the tryline and Joe Carlisle held his nerve in the most nerve-shredding moments, to give Warriors a one-point lead with just a couple of minutes remaining on the clock.

But in late, late drama, Bedford attempted a drop-goal which was sliced wide before one final twist.

Tom Arscott let the ball bounce as Bedford grounded and claimed a try…

With hearts in Warriors fans’ mouths, the TMO was called into action and replays showed the ball had gone dead – and seconds later – the final whistle came to the delight of the home crowd.

After the edge-of-seat stuff in the first leg at Scottish last weekend, you wouldn’t want to miss out on this Friday’s game if it’s to be anything like the previous one at Sixways!

Make sure you’re there and cheer Warriors into the Championship play-off final!
