It is with great sadness that Worcester Warriors announce the death of Roy Lewis, the father of flanker Sam Lewis.
Mr Lewis passed away on Monday.
Sam has returned to his home in Wales to be close to his family and will no longer be involved in Wednesday’s Greene King IPA Championship play-off final against Bristol Rugby at Ashton Gate.
Sam will be replaced by Sam Betty in the starting line-up.
At this extremely sad time, the thoughts of everyone at Worcester Warriors are with the Lewis family.
Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole said: “At this difficult time, we thank everybody who has supported Sam and ask that he now has privacy to grieve for his loss.”
