O’Toole – Warriors well prepared for Aviva Premiership

Jim O’Toole believes Worcester Warriors are well prepared for life in the Premiership after the Club secured an instant return to the top-flight with victory in the Championship play-off final last week.

Warriors enjoyed a remarkable season in England’s second tier as they won the B&I Cup and reached the Aviva A League final before seeing off Bristol over two legs in the Championship decider.

And, according to the Warriors Chief Executive, the future at Sixways is a bright one.

He said: “We’ve seen a real progression on the pitch over the last year and Dean has continued to build a squad which can compete in the Premiership.

“We have had significant investment from Sixways Holding Limited and that has allowed us to focus on the Club’s long-term strategy and ensure we continue to move forward year after year.”

Warriors recorded a sell-out for last Wednesday’s final against Bristol, as supporters from right across the region packed into Sixways to enjoy one of the most exciting matches ever played in Worcester.

And O’Toole admits the Club will be looking to raise the bar once again over the summer to give supporters every reason to turn up to Sixways next season.

He continued: “We know there is an appetite right across Worcestershire and the West Midlands to watch Premiership rugby and now Sixways will offer that once again.

“Before next season we will be developing our matchday offering so that every supporter is getting a matchday experience and customer service that makes them want to return week after week.”

With the extra footfall expected at Sixways following the Club’s promotion, O’Toole has also targeted an increase in sponsorship.

He added: “This is a golden time for Warriors as we are in the strongest position we have ever been in.

“We will be looking to develop even better relationships with our existing loyal sponsors and work with new sponsors as we know there are businesses which will play an important role in our future.

“And there is also the events and conferencing side of our organisation which has continued to flourish during our season in the Championship so that will continue to be a major focus for us.

“We have always set our sights on bringing long-term sustainable success to this Club so we are all very excited now we have returned to the Premiership.”
