Warriors to play Singha Premiership Rugby 7s

Premiership Rugby have today confirmed that Worcester Warriors’ return to the top flight of English club rugby will come on Saturday 22 August, when they compete in the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series.

Warriors were promoted back to Aviva Premiership Rugby last month and that elevation comes with a place in the 7s Series, where they have been drawn alongside Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in the event at Kingston Park, Newcastle.

The last time Warriors competed in the 7s Series they qualified from Group A, bowing out in the Pool stages at the Final.

Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole said: “We’re delighted to be back in the Premiership and can’t wait to kick off with the Sevens.

“There’ll no doubt be some exciting rugby on offer and we’ll be looking to go as far as we can in the competition.”

This year's  Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series will kick off at Gloucester Rugby on Thursday 20 August with the Final eight days later at the Twickenham Stoop.

The only 7s competition in which all 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs take part, will also be staged at the Ricoh Arena and Kingston Park as the Series moves around the country, and shown live on BT Sport.
