Warriors to host Wasps in pre-season battle

Warriors will take on Aviva Premiership counterparts Wasps on Saturday 26 September in a pre-season game at Sixways (kick-off 3pm).

The encounter will be a first chance for supporters to see some of the new summer arrivals in action for the first time ahead of the 2015/16 Aviva Premiership campaign.

The last meeting between the two sides produced a nail-biting finish in March 2014, where Wasps snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as Andy Goode scored with the last kick of the game.

And Dean Ryan’s men will get an idea of what they’ll be up against in the forthcoming season as they take on Dai Young’s side – who finished sixth in the table last time out – booking a place in the European Champions Cup in the meantime.

Warriors Chief Executive Jim O’Toole said: “What better way for us to get started in the 2015/16 season than a game against a top-class side.

“It’ll be a great opportunity for the team to see how far they’ve come in pre-season ahead of what promises to be an entertaining Premiership campaign and it’ll no doubt be an exciting afternoon.”

Warriors' home pre-season fixtures will be included in Season Ticket packages when they are launched later this month. Further pre-season fixtures will also be confirmed at a later date.

Meanwhile, Warriors will be in action in the Singha Premiership 7s at Kingston Park in Newcastle on Saturday 22 August, where they face Leicester Tigers, Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons.
