Leleimalefaga relishing Aviva Premiership opportunity

New signing Na’ama Leleimalefaga says he can’t wait for the Aviva Premiership season to start after making his Club debut against the Barbarians earlier this month.

The 27-year-old prop moved to Worcester from Top 14 side Montpellier and has quickly turned his attention to helping his new side compete in the top-flight.

He said: “I‘m looking forward to playing at Sixways in the league. I’ve met lots of the fans and they love this Club and have been really supportive.

“It’s the longest pre-season since I started playing professional rugby. It’s been good but hard and the medical staff have really looked after us.”

The forward brings a wealth of experience to Dean Ryan’s side having been part of Samoa’s 2007 Rugby World Cup squad, while he has also played Champions Cup rugby.

And he has been impressed with the attitude of the young players at Sixways.

He continued: “Warriors have a really good vision. When you see the young players working really hard it can only be good for the future of this Club.

“Players have got individual programmes according to their training needs and we’re all moving forward together as a team.”

Warriors have been busy behind the scenes this summer, as the Club look to install a new artificial pitch, new changing rooms and an indoor training centre.

And Leleimalefaga says the promise of new facilities helped convince him to join the Club.

He added: “When I signed Dean told me the Club were redeveloping the facilities and that will make a huge difference to everyone here.”
