Fans ready to light up Twickenham

With Saturday’s trip to Twickenham nearly upon us, fans have shared their excitement on what promises to be a memorable weekend in the Club’s history.

Warriors are encouraging fans to wear blue & gold and will be giving out flags to mark Worcester’s first visit to the home of English rugby.

Kevin Crimmons, 53, from Bromsgrove has been following the Club since 2001 and believes Warriors deserve their chance on the big stage.

He said: “I’ve been a supporter for 14 years and there have been some real high points but to play at Twickenham will be fantastic.

“I’ve been there a few times to see a couple of internationals as well as the Aviva Premiership final and it’s always a special atmosphere.

“It will be great to see everyone in gold & blue and we’ve all got our shirts ready.”

Chris Oliver, 40, from Colwall Malvern is travelling down with his 6-year-old son and is excited about his first trip to the stadium.

He said: “We can’t wait, to it’s our first time going to Twickenham. Seeing Warriors play Saracens is such a big occasion and I can’t wait to see my sons face when Warriors run out onto the pitch.

“I think we can cause an upset. Saracens might take us lightly and we’ll come out strong so we've got our fingers crossed for a win.”

Peter McConville hopes that Warriors can win over some new fans when they take to the big stage on Saturday.

He said: “It will be my second visit to Twickenham. The first was to see England's clash with Australia at the Rugby World Cup.

“It’s a terrific stadium with a great atmosphere. There will be a lot of neutral fans about and I hope they see that we play some good rugby and can turn a few heads.

“Everyone involved with the Club can enjoy it. It’s great for the players and fans and playing on the big stage is something we can aspire to.

“We’ll be kitted out in the blue & gold and have our scarves out and ready too.”
