Warriors sign tighthead prop Alo

Warriors are delighted to announce the signing of tighthead prop Biyi Alo, who has joined the Club as injury dispensation cover from Aviva Premiership and European Champions Cup winners Saracens.

The 22-year-old was part of the Saracens set-up for nearly six years and made his Aviva Premiership debut against Harlequins at Wembley in March 2015.

Alo started against Worcester Cavaliers as Saracens Storm claimed the Aviva A League title at Sixways in January 2015 before helping a young Saracens first-team lift the LV= Cup later that year.

After graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Sports Science, Sport Development and Sport Management, the talented forward spent time with Old Albanians and also enjoyed a spell with Bedford Blues last season.

On the international front Alo was previously part of the England Under 20s squad which claimed the World Junior Championship crown in 2014 after victory over South Africa in Auckland.

Alo said: “I am really excited about the opportunity to become part of a squad which has gone from strength-to-strength in recent seasons.

“Warriors have real ambitions to move up the Aviva Premiership table and that is something I am hungry to be a part of.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “Biyi is a player who possesses the potential to be a successful Premiership player.

“He has learnt his trade with the European champions and has amassed experience in their LV= Cup winning side so we are looking forward to working with him at Sixways.”
