The work of the Warriors Foundation

The Warriors Community Foundation is the charitable arm of Worcester Warriors and exists to help build a legacy for sport, education, health and social cohesion across the communities within our reach.

Worcester Warriors is a not for profit professional rugby club with any profits being ploughed back into the local community.

The Foundation also actively fundraises and seeks financial support to help deliver its multi-award winning programmes that change lives.

What we do
We specialise in working with young people disengaged from mainstream education or those who have behavioural or learning issues.

We engage in workshops with young people to help them make positive life choices. We utilise the values of rugby – leadership, teamwork, respect, discipline and confidence to raise aspirations.

We provide informative educational programmes on social issues such as alcohol and drug abuse, health and crime.

We work with over 50 schools, clubs and on the streets to increase participation in sport, while delivering functional skills to over 100 young people every year within our own classrooms at Sixways Stadium and in the heart of Birmingham. What else do we do?
We support many other charities and community organisations that we have formed partnerships with such as Acorns Children’s Hospice.  Acorns has been our official charity partner for over six years and the partnership is currently valued in excess of £350,000.

#LeadTheWay is an overarching campaign that has created an opportunity for everyone to get behind a common cause and highlights the issues faced by those living in isolation within our community.

This includes people who are full-time carers for others, people who suffer from mental illness, those who are bereaved, those who have a physical disability or are just elderly and living alone and have lost the confidence to socially interact.

The objective of the campaign is to connect with groups of people or individuals and offer them a bespoke service to overcome their anxiety and make Worcester Warriors an accessible place for them to interact with others in a similar situation.

We work with different organisations and charities to help and support these people to overcome their fears and feel confident about using Worcester Warriors as a gateway to social inclusion. To find out more click here

Our work with minority groups is increasing.  Our Mixed Ability programmes and of course our multi-award winning Homeless RFC are all leading the way and bringing people together.

Our players volunteer their time in support of the Foundation’s own programmes.  They act as mentors in the classroom helping and guiding the young people.

They support our #LeadTheWay campaign and they help feed the homeless.  The players are also ambassadors for many other charities that they are passionate about such as: Diabetes UK, Unicef, The Blue Cross, ChildLine to name just a few.  Our players also support our educational programmes focusing on healthy living.

It is also important for us to support our Troops through the Tickets4Troops Campaign and we dedicate our November fixture to the Poppy Appeal in Remembrance of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

Our Charity Lounge is available for charities to utilise on matchdays on a first come, first served basis.  For more information on the charity lounge please email events@warriors.co.uk.
