Mills signs new Warriors deal

Ryan Mills has committed his future to Warriors by signing a new deal to remain at Sixways.

The 24-year-old is yet another first-team star to put pen to paper with the Club this season, with the likes of Bryce Heem and Nick Schonert already having signed contract extensions.

Mills, who can play at fly-half or centre, joined Warriors in the summer of 2014 and quickly established himself within the first-team, making 18 appearances in Warriors’ Championship, promotion-winning campaign.

He was an ever-present once again last season, featuring in 21 of Warriors’ 22 Aviva Premiership matches and has impressed playing at fly-half during this campaign, while also having skippered the side in the European Challenge Cup.

During this season, Mills has amassed 99 points with the boot in 14 appearances, including a Club Premiership-record, 24-point haul against Saracens in February, as his fine display secured an unforgettable win over the reigning English and European champions.

Warriors Director of Rugby Gary Gold said: “Millsy has been fantastic this season. Although his favoured position is at 12, he has been exceptional for us in making the switch to fly-half.

“He certainly has the ability to manage games and he has been crucial in helping us secure vital victories over Saracens and Bristol.

“We’re delighted he has decided to commit to the Club and I’m sure he will only get better in the coming years, whether he’s playing at ten or 12.”

Mills added: “I’m very happy to have re-signed for the Club. There are recent changes that have happened behind the scenes which have really boosted the confidence of the squad.

“These changes show that the Club still have the ambition to keep moving forward, which was massively important in me making my decision to stay.

“I’m extremely happy off the field and on the field we’ve been making big progress in recent weeks.

“Now we’re all focused on finishing the season strongly and to give us a great platform going into next year.”
