Bryan Adams wows Sixways crowd

Rock star Bryan Adams wowed over 9000 concert-goers on Friday night in an electric performance at Sixways Stadium.

The Canadian superstar played a number of classic hits like Summer of 69, Everything I Do and Run To You as thousands sang along and rocked the night away at the home of Worcester Warriors.

The concert was the first live show at Sixways since 2007, when Status Quo entertained the crowds, and was the first to be hosted on the Artificial Grass Pitch, which was installed in the summer of 2016.

Sixways Stadium is already held in high regard as an events destination, hosting a number of sporting events, as well as popular Christmas party nights, dinners, conferences and events.

Many local music fans took to social media to praise the gig after Bryan Adams lit up the crowd on a warm Friday (14 July) evening.

Following the successful event, Warriors Managing Director Gus Mackay is hoping the Club will be able to attract more concerts to Sixways in the near future.

He said: “Friday was a fantastic show. The atmosphere was electric and the amount of positive feedback we’ve had has been outstanding.

“This event now puts us on the map for concerts as we aspire to be one of the best venues for large-scale events in the West Midlands region.

“There’s obviously an appetite to watch high-profile music stars in the West Midlands and we’re working with promoters to try and identify artists to play at Sixways in the summer of 2018 and beyond.”

Les Kidger, Director of LCC Live, said: “Sixways Stadium is an ideal venue for concerts. It’s easy to get to, has on-site car parking and the facilities are of the highest quality.

“The staff did an incredible job in supporting us to deliver a brilliant concert and I’m sure there will be more for the local region to enjoy in the coming years.
