Warriors players raising money for Movember

Warriors players have been busy growing facial hair this month in support of the Movember Foundation.

Scrum-half Jonny Arr has taken the role of Warriors captain and is joined by a host of his teammates to raise money and awareness of the foundation’s work.

The Movember Foundation is tackling men’s health on a global scale all year round by addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

The foundation is working with Premiership Rugby again this season and every club in the top-flight has selected a Movember captain to help inspire players and supporters from the rugby community to get behind the month-long initiative.

Arr said: “It’s the first time I’ve grown a moustache for Movember. I’ve never really been good at growing any facial hair but I’ve gone for it this year.

“It’s massively important to raise awareness for men’s health. The Movember cause is absolutely fantastic in helping to get men talking about their health and also mental health issues as well.

“It’s a unique way of raising awareness and it’s massive for the Club to help out. Rugby players are seen as these big macho guys and aren’t often seen to be talking about men’s health so for people to see the big stars getting involved will help inspire others to join in the cause.

“I’ve been around a lot of people who have been affected one way or another through cancer or mental health and it can be very tough for men to talk about it.

“Hopefully through this campaign it can get people feeling more comfortable about opening up and improve men’s health in general.
