Warriors Head Coach Carl Hogg spoke to the media today ahead of Friday night’s European Challenge Cup clash with Oyonnax at Stade Charles-Mathon.
Here’s what he had to say:
- We stuck to task last weekend. We didn’t panic after a slow start and we got our just rewards.
- Michael Dowsett and Sam Olver did a fine job of keeping us in the right areas of the field, as did Luke Baldwin when he came on.
- It will be a hostile environment in Oyonnax on Friday, as all French grounds are, but we are relishing the challenge.
- We will have to step up physically from last weekend.
- They have a 3G pitch now so it will be a similar surface to Sixways.
- It will be a tough ask to progress to the knockout stages but we will take it week by week and build on each performance.
- We need to win this game and we’re focusing on what’s in front of us.
- It will be a similar squad but we are waiting on the fitness of Dean Hammond after a knock last weekend.
- The group don’t get distracted by things off the field. We all just focus on ourselves.
