Miller & Carter January Player of the Month

It’s time to vote for your January Warriors Player of the Month, sponsored by Miller & Carter Worcester.

It’s been another busy month of action – with three games having taken place at Sixways.

The New Year didn’t get off to the best of starts for Alan Solomons and his men, as Bath Rugby proved too hot to handle at Sixways despite Warriors running in three tries courtesy of David Denton, Joe Taufete’e and Perry Humphreys.

Things improved a week later as Warriors and Connacht Rugby battled out an entertaining 24-24 draw as the Sixways faithful were treated to four tries from Solomons’ side. Sam Lewis, Perry Humphreys (2) and 6 Nations-bound Josh Adams, were all on the scoresheet.

A torrid trip to France followed as Brive knocked Warriors out the European Challenge Cup on a wet evening in Tulle, but things got back on track in the final week of January.

Warriors beat Exeter Chiefs in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in what was their first win over their Premiership counterparts in 13 attempts – thanks to five more tries to delight the home support.

An Adams brace along with scores for Denton, Tom Howe and Luke Baldwin secured a fine win and the first of 2018.
