Warriors are delighted to announce the signings of Doncaster Knights scrum-half Michael Heaney and London Scottish hooker Isaac Miller ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The English-qualified pair, who have penned one-year deals, are the latest players to sign after it was confirmed earlier this month that Cornell du Preez, Ashley Beck and Callum Black will be making the move to Sixways this summer.
Heaney, 27, is an experienced scrum-half who won the 2010 Under 20s Six Nations Championship with Ireland, having also represented Emerging Ireland.
Heaney came through the ranks at Ulster Rugby before making his debut in 2010, and then made a six-month move to England to play for Doncaster in the Greene King IPA Championship.
The number nine then returned to Northern Ireland where he made 29 appearances for Ulster between 2012 and 2015, before rejoining Doncaster, where he has since played 74 times, scoring nine tries.
In 2015/16, he was part of the Knights side which reached the Championship final and played in both legs, which included a win over Bristol Rugby at Ashton Gate.
He was also part of the Doncaster side which reached the play-off semi-finals last season before their dreams of reaching the top flight were ended by London Irish.
Heaney said: “Joining Warriors was simply an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.
“Having spoken to my pal Niall Annett, who’s obviously been at the Club for a while, he told me how great the culture was at Sixways and how there is everything you need as a rugby player to try and reach the top of your game.”
Meanwhile, hooker Miller, 23, is a former Scotland Under 20 international who used to captain Loughborough Students in National League One.
He made the switch to the Championship to play for Scottish this season and has scored four tries in 17 appearances for the Exiles, having also skippered the side.
Miller said: “I’m excited about moving to Worcester and testing myself at the top level.
“Warriors are a Club that are known for giving opportunities to young players and you only have to look as far as the likes of Jack Singleton and Josh Adams coming through the system to see how players can realise their ambitions at Sixways.”
Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons added: “Michael is a talented player with an excellent understanding of the game and will add further depth in the key position of scrum-half.
“Isaac is a promising young hooker who has excelled in the Championship this season and we’re looking forward to bringing him to Sixways where he will no doubt continue to develop.”
