Director of Rugby Alan Solomons spoke to the press today ahead of Warriors’ clash with Leicester Tigers at Sixways on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).
Here’s what he had to say:
Reflecting on London Irish and previewing Leicester Tigers
- We were flat last weekend and must lift our performance this time around.
- Leicester are a tough side and will be buoyed after their win at Saracens last weekend.
- They are a physical team and have a very good set-piece and maul.
Jono Lance
- Jono is a quality player who knows the set-up well at Sixways.
- The squad are all chuffed he is coming back, he is a popular member and will slot back in seamlessly.
- He will add to the squad not just on the field but off of it too.
- He is strong defensively and can also play at 12.
Gareth Milasinovich
- Gareth is a big, strong boy who has developed really well and Mefin Davies, who looks after our scrums, has been particularly impressed with him.
- He has come through the system here and done very well.
- It is very useful that he can play at both one and three and he is also English-qualified in June.
Josh Adams
- Josh is under contract next season. He isn’t going anywhere and he’s very happy here.
Selection news
- David Denton and Josh Adams are available for this weekend.
- We’ll make a decision on Francois Hougaard later in the week.
Player recruitment and retention
- There is plenty of continuity within the squad and I’m very happy with where we are.
