Six Nations tournaments come to an end for Warriors and Valkyries players

Six Warriors and five Valkyries players were in action at the weekend as the Six Nations tournaments came to an end.

Ben Te’o started at inside centre for England as they suffered a 24-15 defeat to Ireland, who claimed the NatWest 6 Nations Grand Slam in emphatic fashion a Twickenham on Saturday.

But there was a better result for his Warriors teammate David Denton, who came on for the final 14 minutes as Scotland battled to a narrow 29-27 victory over Italy in Rome.

In the Women’s Six Nations, Valkyries’ Lark Davies came off the bench for England as they ended their Six Nations campaign with a 33-11 win over Ireland. But France’s victory over Wales meant that England had to settle for a second-placed finish.

England Under 20s also had to make do with a runners-up spot despite beating Ireland 48-15 on Friday night. Agonisingly, England lost out to champions France only on points difference.

Warriors Academy trio James Scott, Will Butler and Ted Hill were all involved for England as they dominated at the Ricoh Arena.

Away from the Six Nations, Warriors’ youngster Lewis Holsey from Solihull School was in the England side which saw off Scotland 64-0 at Murrayfield.

And Valkyries’ Charlie Wilcock was in action for England Women Under 20s as they narrowly went down 17-10 to France.

Elsewhere three Valkyries went head-to-head when the Barbarians came up against the Army at the weekend. Sian Moore and Tracy Balmer lined-up for the Barbarians, while Jade Mullen played for the Army.
