Worcester Valkyries and Wales Women forward Morfudd Ifans has been named as March’s Player of the Month, sponsored by Councillor Richard Udall.
Ifans only joined the Club in February and has made a big impression on Director of Rugby Roy Davies and his coaching staff in a short space of time, as she started all three matches in March.
Playing at both hooker and blindside flanker during the month, Ifans impressed in the final month of the season.
Director of Rugby Davies said: “Morf is a natural leader and has the versatility to play in both the front and back rows.
“Wherever she plays, her work rate and effectiveness in the tackle have been a huge asset to our squad.”
Valkyries posted some of their strongest performances of the season in March and have set a few markers down as they build for the 2018/19 Tyrrells Premier 15s season.
Davies added: “I feel that we have got through the storming and norming phases and our challenge over pre-season is to turn all our hard work and effort into performing regularly at the top level.
“To do that we need players, like Morfudd, who are willing to stand up, be counted and not take any backwards steps.”
