Warriors confirm 2018/19 Three Pears Senior Academy squad

16-man Academy squad named for new season

Warriors can today confirm their new 16-man Three Pears Senior Academy squad for the 2018/19 campaign.

Ten players are retained from the 2017/18 Three Pears Academy while there are six new additions to the squad.

Alex Bartley, Tom Fawcett and Ollie Lawrence will step up from the Warriors Under 18 set-up, while former Warriors Under 18 prop Kai Owen and Wales Under 18 pair Luke Scully and Callum Morris have joined the Academy ahead of the new season.

Warriors Academy Manager Chim Gale said: “A lot of the guys have really impressed when handed opportunities with the first-team or Worcester Cavaliers in 2017/18 and hopefully now they will continue to make strides and make the step up to the senior squad in the next couple of seasons.

“For the young guys coming in, they will be hungry to make an impression and we’re looking forward to working alongside them to try and help them realise their potential.

“I’d like to place on record our thanks to all our local clubs, schools, coaches and the parents who continue to help support our thriving Academy system within the North Midlands and South Warwickshire.”

Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons added: “A flourishing Academy is vital for the success of this Club. We’ve got some tremendous young players who really stepped up to the plate last season and I have no doubt we’ll see more of these young guys impressing in the upcoming campaign.”

Meanwhile Academy back Afeafe Haisila Lokotui, who made two first-team appearances, has left the Club.

Gale added: “We’d like to thank Afe for his services over the past couple of years and we wish him all the best in his next venture.”
