Premiership Rugby Cup begins at Sixways

Warriors will make history on Friday night as they host the first ever Premiership Rugby Cup match.

Alan Solomons’ men will welcome Sale Sharks to Sixways (kick-off 7.45pm) as the sides battle to claim the first win of the competition since it was established in the summer.

Solomons told the media this week that he will name a strong side for the encounter, with star players Francois Hougaard, Bryce Heem and Josh Adams all likely to be involved.

Warriors find themselves in Pool 2 of the competition, alongside Leicester Tigers, Sale and Saracens.

They will face their pool opponents once, and will also play a Derby Day game against Wasps in February, with all matches counting towards their pool position.

The winners of each pool will progress to the semi-finals, along with the highest placed runner-up of the three pools.

Gates for Friday’s match open at 5.45pm, with Adult tickets available from £12 and Junior tickets available from £5.

The Kids Zone will be open before kick-off, where juniors can get their face painted and meet Warriors players. And after the match Recovered will be playing in the Warriors Coliseum.

It’s Warriors’ first game of the season under the Friday night lights so come and cheer on the boys.
